How to collect resident reviews

All of your scores and rankings on HomeViews are based on reviews – so the best way to make the most of HomeViews is by collecting more reviews.

A4 Posters and A5 Leaflets

To be displayed in any communal area around the community – for example, in a concierge, reception, lifts or communal areas.

Newsletter designs, email copy and email footers

Consider who is best to send these emails out. Is there a central point of contact who residents know that can send personal invite residents to share their reviews?

Push for HomeViews reviews via your Resident App

HomeViews has integrations with Spike Global, Yardi and Pinglocker for residents to click directly through and share their reviews.

If you have any of these, please contact your account manager to set up the integration.

Team Members Speaking to Residents Onsite

Ask residents directly at various touchpoints – at reception or within communal areas, when a maintenance request has been completed, or even at move-in.

Team members can all have a QR code on their phones that scans through to the HomeViews ‘Write a review’ page.

Team members can also print out and use the ‘5 Reasons To Write A Review’ document to share with residents on why they should share their feedback.

Postcards, Business Cards and Welcome Packs

HomeViews can also design postcards that can sit in the concierge, reception or communal areas that can be handed out by onsite teams – creating a more personalised reminder to leave a review.

Digital screens

If you have any screens or TVs around your development, a great way to remind residents to leave a review is to have a digital screen or poster with a QR code that links straight to your review form.

Resident Email Tool

The Resident Email Tool is a feature in your Partner Portal that allows you to upload an email address file that sends an automated invitation to write a review on HomeViews. This will be a HomeViews branded email.

How often should I collect reviews?

We recommend an on-going review collection approach, which makes it easier for you and your teams to collect smaller numbers but on an on-going basis, instead of having the pressure of collecting a huge number in the space of 3 weeks.

We suggest having a HomeViews reviews target per month or per quarter with your on-site teams, so that there is a consistent flow of reviews coming in and this prevents them from being overwhelmed at one point in the year. Having consistent reviews also provides better transparency for those visiting your pages, as they can see that the feedback is always up to date.

As a partner, we are here to support you with all tools of collecting reviews. We are able to provide you with new on-going review collection material every quarter, so please do contact your Account Manager who can assist with this.

HomeViews is the only independent review platform for residential developments in the UK. Prospective buyers and tenants use it to make an informed decision on where to live based on insights from carefully verified resident reviews. Part of Rightmove since February 2024, we’re working with developers, house builders, operators, housing associations and the Government to give residents a voice, recognise high performers and to help improve standards across the industry.

We believe the best information about a residential development comes from the people living there. Owners and tenants have a lot of useful information to share with their prospective neighbours, not just on the property itself and its locality, but also on the development and building management.
